Puerto Vallarta fishing Review My Marlin

I had the opunity to go out on a 12 hour day of fishing with my wife, daughter and father on the”My Marlin,” skippered by Steve Torres and crewed by Oscar on 12/29/15.
This is the second year going out w Steve and he does not disappoint. Starting with Damon who does a great job in setting up the trip and communicating all neccessary details, I wanted to have the opportunity to catch a
marlin as well as dorado. Steve and Oscar did an outstanding job letting us know what to expect and how the day would unfold. We trolled and had an early dorado hookup. Later Steve found floating debris and it was game on with the dorado. We caught five monster dorado (mostly bulls) I missed one. That gave us a total of 6 for the day. Other boats came to us after seeing our hookups. They weren’t catching anything upon arriving; we had the right bait. The best was yet to come. After about 15 minutes of beginning to troll again, the marlin
hit. With superior boat control by Steve, I was able to boat my first blue marlin after a 1/2 hour fight, weighing in at approximately 300 lbs. Right after it was over, Steve said, “Let’s get another one.” That’s confidence. My
family and I vacation in PV every Christmas and I would never consider another boat or captain.

Puerto Vallarta fishing Charter Review aboard the My Marlin October 2016

Great time on the My Marlin. Captain and first mate were top notch and ended up putting a nice blue on the boat.

Puerto Vallarta fishing information

Puerto Vallarta fishing Information.
If you are after a certain game fish in Puerto Vallarta then you definitely want to do a little research before booking Your trip.  For Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Yellowfin Tuna You will need to go offshore on a deep sea fishing charter. The 2 hot big game fishing spots in Puerto Vallarta that you can reach on a 1 day fishing trip is 36 miles offshore to Corbetena or 50 miles offshore to el Banco. A Charter 36 miles offshore to Corbetena is typically a 10 hour fishing Charter. A Charter to El banco 50 miles offshore is a full 12 hour day. From late June to late November you catch Blue and Black Marlin and high season is Late July to November the Marlin bite seems more consistent in the hotter months July, August, September, then October and November We do not catch as many but the Marlin We do catch are normally bigger in size of course every year differs a little bit My Favorite is August and September. If you are after Yellowfin Tuna you can catch big Tuna normally all year around but in the last couple years for some reason they have been keeping offshore 80-120 miles so a over night fishing charter is normally necessary. But the Tuna bte is still consistent fishing el banco and el Corbetena in September and October. Sailfish you can also find all year around sometimes right off the point of Banderas bay in Punta de mita and at el morro a rock 22 miles offshore. the best time to catch Sailfish is July through November but truthfully you really have decent shot at Mahi mahi an Sailfish all year around. Wahoo You can find at either Corbetena or el Banco and the best season is September and October.
